Writer’s High is a Thing!

Post Conference Writer’s High

Thanks to everyone who attended #MWW23 … and who posted about it to social! We loved following along with your “aha” moments, your lessons, your photos and all the fun you had networking and talking shop. That Craft + Community is what makes Midwest Writers Workshop so special.

We’re all still running on that “writer’s high”: newfound confidence, renewed ambition, and the readiness to tackle that project you’d been putting off. It’s a wonderful feeling–for you and for us! Run as fast and as hard as you can. But if you’ve been to a conference before, you know that the fervor dies down; dishes pile up as quickly as the work deadlines and before you know it, your writing is on the back burner.

We’re here to tell you not to fret, and certainly don’t beat yourself up! The intensity might fade, but that doesn’t mean it wasn’t genuine. Each conference you attend and each new writer friend you make raises the high water mark in your writing life; you can’t slide backwards even if it feels that way.

Recapture the inspiration by rewatching the videos and checking in on each other. Use each other as a resource, and us, too! Remember, we are here from you. The writing life has its ups and downs and we’re with you every step of the way.

Keep sharing your writing process and successes with us using #MWW on Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter.
